Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 23, 2026

Mellowbit Studio builds small apps that work on your Mac. This policy explains what happens with data when you visit mellowbit.studio or use our apps. The short version: we collect as little as possible, and the files you work with stay on your Mac.

Who we are

Mellowbit Studio is the controller of the personal data described in this policy. This policy covers the Mellowbit Studio website and apps published under the Mellowbit Studio name. For app-specific details, see the individual policies listed at the bottom of this page. You can contact us at support@mellowbit.studio.

Information we collect

With your consent, this website uses Google Analytics to understand site usage. It may collect page views, interactions, device and browser information, and approximate location, and use cookies to distinguish visits. Google processes this data on our behalf; see Google’s Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from sites that use its services. We also save your language and analytics choices in your browser’s local storage. No Mellowbit account is required to use this website. You can change this choice at any time via “Analytics settings” in the footer.

Like most websites hosted on standard infrastructure, our hosting provider Cloudflare may process basic request data (such as IP address and user agent) to deliver pages securely, prevent abuse, and keep the service running. Cloudflare may retain this data for a limited period under its privacy policy. We do not combine it with other data or use it to identify you.

When you email us, we receive the message and any files or screenshots you choose to attach. Our email provider processes support messages on our behalf, and we keep the thread so we can respond and follow up.

Cookies and local storage

We use browser storage for two site preferences, and Google Analytics may set cookies only if you accept analytics. No analytics cookies are set before you accept. You can clear these choices in your browser at any time; the analytics banner will then appear again.

Information our apps collect

Our apps are designed to do their work locally on your Mac. They do not require an account, and they do not send your files, documents, or app packages to our servers. Each app's own privacy policy describes its data practices in detail, including what is collected for App Store compliance.

How we use information

We do not sell personal data or use it for personalized advertising. We share it only with the providers that help us run the site and apps — Google Analytics (with your consent), Cloudflare (hosting and security), Apple (App Store purchases and diagnostics), and our email provider (support) — or where required by law. Some providers act on our behalf; Apple and Google may also act as independent controllers under their own policies.

Legal bases and international transfers

If you are in the EEA or UK, we rely on your consent for Google Analytics, which you can withdraw at any time. We rely on legitimate interests to host the site securely, prevent abuse, and respond to support requests, and on contract or legal obligation where applicable.

Google, Apple, and Cloudflare may process data outside your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards; see their privacy policies.

App Store and purchases

When you download or buy an app through the Mac App Store, the transaction is handled by Apple. Apple collects and processes certain information for the purchase, including payment details, under its own privacy policy. We may receive aggregated sales and download reports from Apple, which do not identify individual customers.

Data retention and deletion

We keep support emails for up to 24 months after the last reply, unless a longer period is needed for an open issue or a legal obligation. Google Analytics retains data according to the retention setting in our Google Analytics property. Cloudflare retains request logs and traces according to its retention period for our plan. We keep crash reports for up to 12 months. You can ask us to delete personal information you sent us; we will respond within one month as required by applicable law. Our apps keep your settings locally on your Mac; we do not receive them.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing, and to receive a portable copy of your data. You can withdraw consent at any time; this does not affect processing that happened before withdrawal. You can also complain to your local supervisory authority.

To exercise these rights, contact us at support@mellowbit.studio. We will respond within one month as required by applicable law.

Children

Our websites and apps are general productivity tools, not services directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date on this page and, where appropriate, provide a notice on this page before the change takes effect. Material changes to an app's data practices will also be reflected in its own privacy policy.
