Preview a file

Previews open in Finder. Peeka does not edit the file, and it does not include a separate file inspector, comparison, or export.

  1. In Finder, select a file that has finished downloading to your Mac.
  2. Press the space bar to open Quick Look. Press it again to close the preview.
  3. To change the file, open it in your usual editor or tool.

After you change a format switch, close the open preview and press the space bar again. A switch controls whether Peeka handles the request. macOS still chooses which extension receives the file, and turning a format off does not guarantee that another previewer will take over. Finder icons are separate from these switches.
